Groups

Interest groups are an important part of the programme offered by u3as. These are small groups of members who meet together regularly to share a common interest, and all group members are encouraged to participate. No qualifications are required and none are given.

Trying something new can boost confidence and is an opportunity to meet new friends in a supportive environment. We currently have more than twenty groups, giving a wide range of social, active, creative and learning options from which to choose. Most groups meet once or twice a month, and meetings are usually held in central Aberdeen locations. There are two sessions each year: September to January, and February to June.

Attendance at group activities is restricted to Aberdeen u3a members. For more information about each group, please click on it in the list below and this will take you to the group's webpage. If you would like to join a group or groups and have established that there are spaces for additional members, please download and complete the groups enrolment form on our Documents page where it is available as a pdf or in Word format.

And if there's not a group that matches your particular interest, why not consider starting one? Any member can apply to start up a group. You don't have to be an “expert” and there are sure to be others who share your interest. To find more, please contact our Groups Co-ordinator
