Herzlich Willkommen!
The Intermediate German group is one of two German groups in Aberdeen u3a. We meet for an hour twice a month and normally reconvene in a cafe/Kaffeehaus for a cuppa afterwards.
For more information, please click on the group contact link above to send a message to the group leader.
As we come to the end of our German Textbook, Willkommen 2 by Heiner Schenke, we are going to source our materials on-line, primarily from the DW - DeutscheWelle - Learn German Website. We will also be progressing our grammar understanding using the text essential german grammar (2nd edition) by Martin Durrell, Katrin Kohl, Claudia Kaiser and Gudrun Loftus. There will be opportunities to listen to, read, write and speak German.
Additional opportunities for self-study using interactive on-line activities such as those from Easy German, Deutsche Welle and other websites may also be suggested.
PLEASE NOTE – attendance at group activities is restricted to Aberdeen u3a members. For joining details, please see our membership page.
Remember - there are many ways to progress your German. Maybe by finding an intermediate German book to read or searching on-line to read a newspaper article or two in German. Duolingo which still has a free version is a very popular on-line language teaching App (also available on a desktop computer). And there are numerous brief teaching videos which you can watch to develop both your understanding and grammar at a variety of levels available on YouTube. Why not try a little German everyday.
